Takaful ikhlas Zul

Kemaman, 29 November 2009 – Provider of products and services in Shariah-based financial protection, Takaful IKHLAS Sdn Bhd (Takaful IKHLAS) today held a sacrificial event and distribution of zakat (tithe) to the underprivileged at the yard of Masjid Mukim Binjai, Kemaman, Terengganu in conjunction of the EidulAdha celebration. The event was officiated by the state assemblyman of Air Puteh, Yang Berhormat, Tuan Haji Wan Abdul Hakim Wan Mokhtar. The event was also attended by few of Terengganu State assemblymen and residents from six kampong located at Mukim Binjai.

According to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful IKHLAS, Dato’ Haji Syed Moheeb bin Syed Kamarulzaman, the selection of Mukim Binjai as the area to channel Takaful IKHLAS donations of 10 cows and also the distribution for zakat (tithe) illustrate that the Company does not only focus on places where it has its operation branches but also give its priority to the districts which needs assistance.

“Takaful IKHLAS korban activity is actually one of the many programmes which we organise annually. We are a responsible corporate citizen who implement and follows the Islamic muamalat. We care and concern for people who are underprivileged and requires aid and support. We are aware that this is the beauty of Islamic muamalat, each profit and achievement which we have attained, there is a portion belongs to others,” said Syed Moheeb.

At the event, Takaful IKHLAS handed over zakat (tithe) contributions in the form of RM200 in cash as well as daily essentials to 150 poor people and RM10,000 to PErsatuan Persaudaraan Islam, Kemaman, Terengganu.

“The purpose of this event held today is to give assistance to the needy people so that they are able to celebrate EidulAdha in a cheerful and perfect mood. This programme was one of the company's initiative in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. It is also hope that with this event it will able to construct a caring community,” added Syed Moheeb.

“We are blessed and thankful that the programme held today received strong support from the Terengganu state and also the residents of Kemaman district. In addition, event like this produce the spirit of helping each other among the community. Takaful IKHLAS will always practice and pursue its corporate social responsibility activities for the benefits of the community,” Syed Moheeb explained.

The korban meat from ten cows donated by Takaful IKHLAS was distributed to six kampong in Mukim Binjai. Mukim Binjai kampong residents, the committee members of Masjid Mukim Binjai and Takaful IKHLAS employees help each other to prepare all sort of dishes for the event.

Takaful IKHLAS started its operation in July 2003. A subsidiary company of MNRB Holdings Berhad, an investment holding company listed in the main board of Bursa Malaysia of which the major share holder is Permodalan Nasional Berhad through Skim Amanah Saham Bumiputera.
